Some Things About Mary…

Mary Cross is a singer who embodies authenticity and virtue through her gift of song. The awards and recognition she receives is personified by her innate passion for Classic Soul, Jazz and R&B.

Born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, Mary founded 2NspireU band 9 years ago and they consistently perform to SOLD OUT audiences throughout the tristate region and beyond!

Mary’s vocal tonalities can be described as rich, smooth, bold and warm with melodic intonations that often draw comparisons to the iconic Phyllis Hyman. An impassioned performer, Mary’s music has proven to be timeless and soul stirring.

She has released 3 singles to notable reception even garnering a 2021 Soultracks nomination for Best New Female Artist and her single Promise was also identified by Soultracks as one of the Top 100 songs of the year. Mary’s vocal delivery showcases both her range and versatility which resonate with listeners across various demographics and cultures.

As an artist, Mary cites pivotal musical influences as Oleta Adams, Phyllis Hyman, Sarah Vaughan, Lizz Wright, Gregory Porter, Nancy Wilson, Nina Simone along with a host of others.

Friday, January 27, 2023 marks the Soultracks World Premiere of Mary’s latest single “Meet Me On the Moon” (recorded 32 years ago by the late Phyllis Hyman). The song will be available on all music platforms on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Mary Cross 2NspireU prioritize connecting with audiences by delivering timeless classics that take listeners back down memory lane to an era when lyrics told full stories and more importantly,… “When Love was King”.
